The book starts in 1887 with the signing of a £1.7m cheque to construct the canal, bringing us up to date with the creation of Salford Quays and MediaCityUK which replaced the old Salford Docks.

Each poem is accompanied by historical or modern-day photographs helping to tell this fascinating story.
