Irlam-based imperative training have reported a a £4.1 million turnover in the past financial year.
That’s a 7.8% increase on last year.
The family-owned company is now one of the UK’s largest providers of business-to-business first aid training.
Alongside First Aid courses, imperative also offer courses on defibrillators, fire, food, health & safety and manual handling – with the option of all courses being completed online.
It was launched in December 2003 from owner David Howarth’s bedroom before moving to offices on Liverpool Road near Irlam railway station.
The firm now employs over 20 staff.
Over the past 13 years, imperative training have worked with Costco, Selfridges, Starbucks and Creative Support on delivering in-house first aid training.
They’ve also been appointed by House of Fraser to deliver training to all their staff for the past decade.
The company say they owe the majority of their increase in turnover to defibshop.co.uk, the e-commerce store for their own brand of defibrillators.
Since 2013, defibshop have sold over 9,700 defibrillators.
Chief Executive David Howarth said: “It’s great to hear that all of the hard work from the team at imperative training and defibshop has paid off and resulted in a successful year.
“This is amazing for growing us as a business and raises awareness of how access to AEDs in schools and other public spaces can save someone’s life.
“Approximately 60,000 cardiac arrests happen outside hospital each year in the UK, and without immediate treatment 90-95% of these victims will die. When a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes, the survival chances rise from 6% to 74%.
“Our continued hard work aims to encourage the government that defibrillators should be a requirement to all businesses and public spaces in 2016.”
