Police are looking for a man who fired a stun gun in an assault in Irlam.
At 12.30am on Sunday 10 April, the 22-year-old victim was on Liverpool Road, Irlam, at its junction with Roscoe Road.
A man approached the victim and pulled out a stun gun, which he shoved against the victim’s chest before activating it.
The victim received a shock to the chest, which shook him up but fortunately did not cause him to suffer serious injuries.
The offender is described as white, between 6ft and 6ft 2in tall, average build, with dark hair and dark eyes.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood pulled tightly around his face.
Constable Darren White said: “The consequences of using a stun gun such as this against another person could have been incredibly serious.
“On this occasion the victim fortunately did not suffer serious injuries, but a shock to the chest like that could easily have caused him to suffer a medical episode, or even have meant he hit his head on the pavement as he fell.
“If anyone saw the offence take place, or believes they know who might have committed this assault, I would ask that they contact police to tell us what they know.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police on 101 quoting incident number 100416/0105 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
