Police swooped on a car on the Brookhouse estate in Salford tonight.
A male was arrested at the scene around 7.30pm after two BMWs and a police van pulled a silver car to the side of the road.
Police were cagey as to the nature of the arrest, saying only that it was “in relation to a previous matter”, and that the suspect is not thought to live in the Salford area.
Officers are thought to have been laying in wait for the vehicle on Brookhouse Avenue when they made the arrest.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “This arrest is in connection with a previous matter and the male is not connected to Salford.”
