Police investigating a break-in that left a woman in hospital have made an arrest.
At around 11:15pm on Monday 25 April 2016, police were called to St Marks Lane, Cheetham to reports that three men had broken into a house before assaulting a woman inside and stealing a number of items. The men then got into a small vehicle and drove off.
The woman suffered serious head injuries during the attack and was taken to hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.
A number of road closures were put in place but have since been lifted.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody for questioning.
Chief Inspector Rick Mortimer of Greater Manchester Police said: “The woman remains in hospital in a serious condition after being assaulted during the break-in.
“We have made an arrest, but we are keen to trace the outstanding offenders and if you have any information that may assist, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
