A man who was stopped on a motorway carrying a quarter of a million pounds-worth of Class A drugs has been jailed for seven and a half years.
Wayne Antonio Henry, from Crumpsall, was driving on the northbound carriageway of the M61 in December 2014 when he was pulled over by police.
A search of his car revealed two hidden packages of cocaine and heroin, later valued at £250,000.
In a warrant raid on Henry’s home, officers discovered £3,000 in cash, small quantities of Class As, snap bags for portioning out the drugs and numerous mobile phones.
On Thursday 28 April 2016 he was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
DC Bryan Deighton from the Xcalibre Task Force said, “I hope today’s sentencing demonstrates our commitment to pursuing the drug dealers who are damaging our communities.
“Drugs cause devastation to lives and I would like to thank the people who have supported us and given us information, as you have helped to put this man behind bars.”
