Beechfield United Under 16’s ended the 2015/2016 season in the Timperley and District Junior League with an away game at Lymm Rovers Cougars.
Against their top of Division 3 opponents Beechy created a decent display but after trailing 2-1 at half time eventually lost the contest 4-2.
Goals for United came from Bradley Wheeler who scored via an superbly executed free kick and Mason Gregg. Man of the Match was Chris Royle.
Two days after their league cup victory over Atherton Town the Under 15’s Predators met their opponents in a JFC Sports Division fixture.
The teams shared a 1-1 score line at the break but United suffered from a few poor refereeing decisions and were beaten 2-1. Beechy’s consolation goal was scored by George Davies while Denford Dzvene was named Man of the Match. But the Predators quickly re-discovered the winning formula following their Sunday home game against Stalybridge Celtic.
Throughout the match Beechy created some superb football and after leading 3-0 at half time collected the three points courtesy of an 8-0 win. There were hat tricks for Man of the Match Brandon Kent and Liam Egerton plus two goals by Dylan Durose.
In midweek the Under 15’s Tornadoes played twice within forty eight hours. On Tuesday evening United were at home to North Walkden and on a very wet and poor pitch worked hard to secure a 4-0 victory. Joseph Furlong (2) and Kurtis Taylor (2) got the goals.
Then Beechy played bottom of Section C outfit Horwich RMI Diesel Blues and hit double figures in a one-sided contest. On target were Mason White (5) Joseph Furlong, Travis Walker, Keane Walton, Keiran Alley and Kurtis Taylor. But on Saturday morning the Tornadoes impressive seven match unbeaten run came to an end with a 6-2 home defeat by Atherton LR. Joseph Furlong and Keiran Alley fired in the goals.
In the Supplementary Cup the Under 14’s Storm were at home to Deans Sports and won an evenly balanced contest 4-3. The goals came via Tyler Davies (2) Man of the Match Aaron Gartley and Joe Cox who scored the Storm’s match winner.
Three days later the Storm met De La Salle Celtic in another Supplementary Cup fixture but Beechy lost the tie 3-1. Tyler Davies was named Best Player and Reagan Lucketti scored United’s consolation goal.
Beechy Under 11’s Thunder (9v9) were away to neighbours Moorside Rangers Blue in the Development Group Red Division and hardly wasting possession in the early stages Rangers grabbed the lead. Gradually United found a better rhythm and starting to create some decent chances the Thunder equalised through Samuel Oludoyi.
Ten minutes later following a swift counter-attack Beechy were ahead and Samuel Oludoyi was on target again. With six minutes left to play an uncharacteristic lapse in concentration saw United gift Rangers three soft goals. The teams will meet again in two weeks’ time in the Supplementary Cup final.
Producing a stylish all-round display in the Development Group Green Division were the Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) who met Urmston Town Vipers. Finding their goalscoring touch United were rewarded with a comfortable victory. Alan Kay, Joe Hope, Sam Jones and Patrick Walsh got the goals and Jamie Butterworth received the Man of the Match accolade.
Following two postponed games the Under 11’s Storm (9v9) were back in action with a Development Group Blue away game against Moorside Rangers Red. Damion Broughton, Mason Turner, Adam Rothwell, Rome Hodson and Man of the Match Finley Share netted the goals as Beechy celebrated a fully deserved victory.
There was an impressive team display by the Under 10’s Tornadoes in their Development Group Yellow Division away game at Winton Wanderers. Star Player Kaiden McClean scored six goals and there was a goal apiece for Harley Davidson and Charlie Mulvenna.
In the Development Group Green Division the Under 10’s Storm fought out a goalless first half with local rivals Moorside Rangers Red. Continuing to produce some great soccer after the break United took the lead via Ben Delaney who also scored the Storm’s second goal. With just two minutes to go Rangers set-up a tense finish when they reduced the arrears. Elliott McClurg-Taylor was the team’s Best Player.
At Beech Farm Playing Fields the Under 9’s Lightning entertained Prestwich Junior Dragons and the teams produced an exciting game of mini-soccer. Named Player of the Match was Demi Jones and on target with goals for Beechy were Charlie Harris, Aaron Worthington and David Olidoy.
Suffering a rare defeat were the Under 9’s Hurricanes who were at home to Barr Hill Diamonds. The visitors had two chances and scored two goals totally against the run of play while goals continued to elude the Hurricanes who missed a host of chances in the second half. Sharing the Man of the Match Award were Reilly Happy and Dominic Roaden.
The Under 9’s Typhoon made a comfortable start in their away game with Deans Sports but despite a couple of goals from Milonga Mututa Beechy were indebted to goalkeeper Peter Ellis as they lost their grip on the game. Deans Sports briefly took control and held the lead but Jamie Withington scored waking the team from their slumbers. The Typhoon finished the game with high intensity and quality as they searched for a winning goal and Jamie Withington hammered home a free kick in the dying seconds.
Both teams played some excellent football in the Friendly Match between the Under 9’s Storm and Chadderton Juniors. Josh McLoughlin was in top form in midfield but following three outstanding goals Cole Winstanley was named Man of the Match.
There was a high scoring display from the Under 8’s Hurricanes in the Development Group Yellow Division. Brett McWilliams, Jayden Walker, Man of the Match Ashley Tonge and Alfie Gridlestone were on target as Beechy hit double figures against Ladybridge Pumas.
Playing their first official 7v7 fixture were the Under 8’s Storm who met Swinton Junior Lions. The teams shared the honours following a score draw with United’s only goal coming via Saul Tagoe. The Man of the Match honour went to James Cadwalader.
Goalkeeper Lloyd Hiles produced a spectacular penalty save in the Under 7’s Hurricanes away game with Winton Hurricanes and won the Star Player Award. Ethan Harris with a hat-trick and Dylan Robinson got the goals in the Development Group Red Division.
The Under 7’s Tornadoes were really unlucky to be on the losing side after their Development Group Yellow Division fixture at Urmston Town Dragons. Goalscorers were Harry Jones and Anthony Hughes and voted Best Player was Harvey Riva.
Leading goalscorer Kylan Twigg hit a hat-trick and Man of the Match Henry Jones helped himself to a couple of goals in the Under 7’s Storm’s Development Group Yellow Division home game against De La Salle.
