Shuttle buses are now operating along the route of the Eccles Metrolink as the operator tries to bring the line back up and running.
A points failure at Broadway on Salford Quays at 8am this morning effectively shut off the tram service between MediaCityUK and Eccles.
It comes at the same time as a major First Manchester bus drivers strike which will last until midnight on Tuesday 24 May.

As of 11am on Tuesday, trams are not calling at Eccles, Ladwell, Weaste, Langworthy or Broadway in either direction.
No trams are operating between MediaCityUK and Eccles.
Two shuttle buses are now operating: one is calling at Eccles, Ladywell, Weaste Langworthy and Piccadilly train station while a second is operating between Eccles, Ladywell, Weaste, Langworthy, Broadway and MediaCityUK.
Both services are accepting Metrolink tickets or those First Manchester passengers affected by the strike and who have weekly or season tickets.
Northern Rail is also accepting weekly or season First bus tickets on its Eccles service and Metrolink is operating extra capacity on the Rochdale to help commuters affected by the strike action.
