When: Saturday 28 May, 13:00, Albert Square, Manchester City Centre
What: Join mounted unit officers alongside their police horses at the launch of a new horse road safety campaign
Why: The campaign will be urging drivers to slow down around horses on the roads after police horse Steele and PC Wendy Townley were seriously injured in a road incident while patrolling the streets of Manchester
Who: Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and charity The British Horse Society (BHS). Local celebrities will attend in support of the campaign
Inspector Neil Humphreys from Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Mounted Unit said: “Our event on Saturday is fun for all the family and despite the serious messages, there will be lots to see and do.
