A man has been shot in the street in Little Hulton and is reportedly in intensive care.
Armed police swarmed to Mill Hill, off Captain Fold Road on the Spar estate at 9.25pm tonight Saturday 4 June.
Police tactical aid units were called to reports a man had been injured with a gunshot wound.
It’s understood the victim was approached while out walking on Mill Hill, and was shot before collapsing on the ground.
He is believed to be in hospital in a serious condition.
Officers are standing guard and have erected a cordon down the residential street.
As of 11.20pm on Saturday the shooter or shooters had not been identified and the weapon had not been recovered.
Residents reported multiple armed police on the estate from around 10pm in the evening, steadily increasing as the night wore on.
Officers were going door-to-door making enquiries as well as searching the estate for any further evidence.
Police were not been able to confirm the victim’s age, nor seriousness of his condition, but said that he remained in hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the force said the enquiry was still in its early stages and enquiries would be ongoing in Little Hulton tonight.
