Police closed a section of the A666 Bolton Road for over an hour and a half on Sunday after five people, including three children, were involved in a smash.
At around 1.10pm on Sunday 5 June officers were called to Pendlebury, near McDonalds, to reports of a crash between two cars: a silver Mercedes estate and a blue Volkswagen Golf.
In the Golf were three children who were left shaken by the accident, but none were injured.
The female driver of the Golf and the male driver of the Mercedes were also out of their cars after the incident.
An ambulance was declined and none of the people involved required hospital treatment.
Both cars were blocking the road in the aftermath of the crash but police were able to re-open the road shortly before 3pm on Sunday.
