Peter Kay was captured on camera on Lancaster Road in Salford this afternoon as filming gets underway for the second series of BBC comedy Car Share.
The Bolton comedian and actor was filming scenes at a bus stop on Lancaster Road near Light Oaks Park.
From around noon today, Tuesday 7 June, a large crew of 15-20 lighting and production staff set up on Russell Road, up the road from Salford Royal hospital.
They’d rented an Arriva bus for this particular scene, dropping off and picking actors up at the bus stop outside Light Oaks Infant and Junior school.

Peter Kay was relatively inconspicuous as he sat on the grassed bank outside, wearing sunglasses and a brown hat pulled over his face.
He’d regularly get up to carry out directing duties, watching playback on a large video monitor set up on the pavement.
And he was extremely friendly to approach as the cameras packed up, happy to pose for pictures.

His BBC comedy has won critical acclaim since it hit TV screens last year, picking up two BAFTAs, one for Kay’s performance as supermarket manager John Redmond and the second for winning best scripted comedy.
Kay revealed in December 2015 that the second series was already written.
Because of the nature of the show, with so much driving involved, production crews have to film in May and June to get the best light as sunset comes much later in the evening.
Sian Gibson will return for the second series as Kay’s colleague and car-share pal Kayleigh.
