Girl, 11, sexually assaulted at Affleck’s Palace Manchester

An 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Manchester city centre.

At 5pm on Friday 12 June 2015, the victim and her family were in Affleck’s Palace in the northern quarter when a man walked past her several times.

He touched her inappropriately before he left.

Now police have obtained a still image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.

Detective Constable Daniel Nowland said: “The girl was touched a number of times and managed to build up the courage to tell her parents before the man left the building. Her dad tried to look for him but he had already made his escape.

“The young girl has been left extremely traumatised by what happened as since then, does not want to return to the city centre

“We have trawled CCTV from Affleck’s Palace and other sources and obtained a still of a man we are keen to get in contact with. I would ask anyone who recognises him to call us as soon as possible.

“From the footage, we believe this man has four tattoos, one on the outside of his right forearm, one on the outside of his right bicep, one on the outside of his left calf and possibly a band tattoo round the upper part of his left arm. If you know who he is, please pick up the phone.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 3221 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
