Female train conductor assaulted at Walkden station

British Transport Police are appealing for information after a man assaulted a female train conductor, by grabbing her by the wrist, and pulling her backwards.

It happened just before 10pm on Friday 10 June 2016 at Walkden train station.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Naylor said: “As the victim was despatching the train she was approached by a man on platform one at Walkden station who enquired about services to Southport. After answering his question she boarded the train when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her backwards, causing bruising and swelling to her arm.”

After reviewing CCTV, officers are today issuing images of a man they want to speak to about the incident.

“The man in the images is someone who I think has information about this incident. Who is he?” added PC Naylor.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 334 of 06/07/2016. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
