Manchester United’s new manager Jose Mourinho was spotted taking a tour of the city on Sunday, even stopping to sign autographs for excited young fans as he takes in his new surroundings.
Mourninho, 53, was caught on mobile phone walking up Blackfriars Street, heading into Manchester city centre, when he took the time to entertain two supporters who approached him.
SalfordOnline.com reader Deyar Hawizi spotted the charismatic Portuguese ambling down the street from the top deck of a First bus crossing the River Irwell bridge in Manchester city centre.
Despite his somewhat frosty public reputation, Mourinho seemed happy to stop for autographs and even pose for a picture with two young lads who tried their luck.
Mourinho, who was appointed to take over from Louis Van Gaal as United manager in May, looked in fine spirits as he was no doubt celebrating his side’s 2-0 friendly victory at Wigan Athletic the day earlier, in what was his first match in charge.
Despite being sacked by Chelsea in December, Mourinho has been quick to get back into the swing of football management, having already announced three new signings for United, including Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mourinho and United take on German side Borussia Dortmund this coming Friday 22 July in preparation for their opening match of the new Premier League season away at Bournemouth on 14 August.
