Greater Manchester Police are searching for three men in connection with a stabbing in Lower Broughton, Salford, on Saturday 16 July.
The force were called to a house on Heath Avenue shortly before 3.30pm where they found a 22-year-old male with a number of stab wounds to the leg.
He was initially treated by paramedics at the scene for before being taken to hospital.
It’s understood the man’s injuries are so serious that he may have to have his leg amputated.
His wounds were described as severe, but not life-threatening.
Police do not appear to have found the weapon used in the attack.
Officers cordoned off Heath Avenue throughout Saturday as they went door-to-door making enquiries.
Police have confirmed that three men were spotted fleeing the scene.
A parcel believed to be dropped by the three men as they ran from Heath Avenue was discovered on a pathway near the scene, and is now being forensically examined.
Reports locally suggest that the three men were of Asian descent although this hasn’t yet been confirmed by police, who say enquiries are ongoing.
A statement, including a description of the men, is expected from the force later today.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
