Tim Burgess is to promote the release of his new book with a special event at Salford Lads’ Club on Monday 25 July.
The Charlatans frontman is talking at the historic landmark as part of a tour ahead of the release his second memoir, titled ‘Tim Book Two: Vinyl Adventures from Istanbul to San Francisco’.
The eclectic follow up to ‘Telling Stories’ sees Burgess trace down some of his most admired artists favourite tunes.
From Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr to Twin Peaks creator David Lynch, Burgess travelled all over the world tracking down the vinyls that made them who they are.
Salford-born Burgess has been part of The Charlatans for 27 years, they have realised 12 studio albums with the most recent, ‘Modern Nature’ coming in 2015.
Burgess is arguably something of an entrepreneur, having founded his own record label ‘O Genesis’ in 2011 and has also created his own coffee brand called ‘Tim Peaks’.
Doors open at 6.45pm for the ticketed event on Monday, with special guest, former Manchester United defender and huge fan of Manchester music, Gary Neville also set to speak.
