Salford’s very own theatre and art gallery The Lowry is offering up a month’s worth of free activities for local families in August.
There’s art and crafts classes, drama workshops, storytelling sessions, street games and a whole load more, most based on the work and life of artist LS Lowry.
Each event in the Lowry’s galleries will bring to life the scenes and styles used by the venue’s famous namesake: from cats and dogs to the people who made up his everyday Salford street scenes.
From Funky Junk to Miming Mayhem, Puppets and Portraits to Cool Cameras, even the activity titles are good enough to get the creative juices flowing.

A couple of special treats are also inspired by upcoming shows in The Lowry’s theatres this summer: The Gruffalo’s Child, which runs from 10 August to 4 September and David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny, which is on in Salford from 31 August to 3 September.
Win: Family ticket for four to The Gruffalo’s Child
In July 2014, The Lowry galleries were renamed The Andrew and Zoë Law Galleries in recognition of the couple’s £1m donation to the arts centre – which is a registered charity.
The galleries are open seven days a week from Sunday to Friday 11am – 5pm and on Saturdays 10am – 5pm.
Admission is free.
The Lowry’s current exhibitions are Syzygy (runs until Sun 21 Aug) and a permanent display of LS Lowry works called LS Lowry: The Art & The Artist.
