A woman in her 60s suffered a head injury in a rush-hour accident in Little Hulton this morning.
Buses were diverted away from the scene and roads closed after the 8.30am collision in the middle of town on Wednesday 10 August.
At 8.35am paramedics were scrambled to the busy four-way junction of Armitage Avenue, Manchester Road West, Manchester Road East and Cleggs Lane.
Police shut access to Armitage Avenue and First Manchester were not allowing any vehicle down the route.
The North West Ambulance Service said a woman in her 60s suffered suspected head injuries.
It’s thought she was crossing the road when she was in collision with a lorry, but this is yet to be confirmed.
“We were called to Little Hulton to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
“We have taken one patient to Salford Royal hospital,” a spokesperson for NWAS said.
Doctors at the hospital were informed about her arrival in advance.
First Manchester tweeted about the road closures and diversions, which remain in place as of 10am on Wednesday.
