Police investigating a high-street daylight robbery on a cash in transit van have released CCTV footage in the hope of catching the thieves responsible.
It happened at around 2pm on Thursday 28 July on Bury Old Road in north Manchester.
Dramatic video footage captured from street-level cameras shows two men on a red superbike following the cash van before stopping on the pavement and threatening a security guard with a knife.
The van driver threw the empty cash box at the thieves who flee the scene at speed, flying past terrified pedestrians.
It’s thought the bike sped off in the direction of Manchester city centre.
Officers investigating the robbery are encouraging anyone who recognises the people in the CCTV footage to get in touch with police.
Detective Inspector Chris Flint of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “This is a terrifying robbery that has left the cash in transit driver very shaken.
“I’m appealing to anyone who may recognise the men on the motorbike or the motorbike itself to get in touch.
“I am also appealing to the members of the public in the CCTV images to come forward and give us any information they have about the incident.”
