Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a pensioner was hit by a lorry in Little Hulton on Wednesday morning.
Paramedics were called to the busy junction of Manchester Road West, Armitage Avenue, Manchester Road East and Cleggs Lane at 8.35am.
They found a 64-year-old woman with head injuries at the scene.
She was treated at the roadside before being taken to Salford Royal hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

Police shut Armitage Avenue during the Wednesday rush hour and First Manchester diverted its buses away from the scene.
It’s not been revealed what type or make of lorry may have been involved nor whether the driver stopped after the accident.
Police have launched an investigation but are now calling for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch urgently.
