Salford City round off their Bank Holiday double-header with a trip to Tameside when they face Curzon Ashton at 3pm on Monday.
The game represents another chance for Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s men to climb to top spot in the National League North table, with joint top AFC Fylde travelling to Bradford Park Avenue, and Harrogate away to promotion rivals FC Halifax Town.
The hosts have a slim mathematical chance to moving into a playoff spot with a win, however due to their poor goal difference, can only realistically move as high as ninth.
Today’s game also starts a nightmare run for Curzon, who will have to face the current top three in quick succession.
The Ammies are still unbeaten following this win against Gainsborough Trinity, and will be hoping to rekindle their form in the area after Salford dismantled Stalybridge Celtic 4-0 earlier in the month.
The odds seem to be in their favour, as Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s men have an amazing away league run that stretches back to March, and are unbeaten in eight competitive games on their travels.

Meanwhile Curzon are in a rut at home, and have not won at The Tameside Stadium in their previous seven attempts, in a run that stretches back to April.
More concerning for manager John Flanagan is stopping one of the deadliest attacks in the league with a defence that has let in on average three goals per match at home so far this season.

Salford have scored in every fixture so far this season, spearheaded by new star striker Mike Phenix, who has made a dream start to life at Moor Lane, scoring four goals in six games.
Shutting him down early will be crucial from an Ashton perspective as every time the in form forward has scored first in a game, Salford have gone on to win.
On the plus side for Curzon, they head into the game off the back of a good 4-2 win against Altrincham at the J. Davidson on Saturday, and are unbeaten in two games, but will need to extract all the form they have to stand a chance against Salford.
