Barton Athletic Club who have recently moved to new £750,000 premises on Franklin Street, Patricroft, need your help.
The club provides the following sports – wrestling, boxing, weightlifting, road running as well as facilitating multi-sport and general fitness sessions.
SalfordOnline.com spoke to Club Treasurer, John Lightfoot, who told us, “If we win this funding it means it will give us affordable green power, that will help the club save money in the future.
“The new club has been built to accomodate solar panels so we don’t need to do any structural alterations to the building.
“Also if we are succesful any money saved will be put back into helping the youth in the district”
The club have applied to the Marks and Spencer Energy Community Energy Fund to have Solar Panels fitted at their sports facility.
The Club have heard back from Marks and Spencers that they have gone through to the main competition nationally.
Altogether just over a hundred applicants are through to the final.
The prize pot Nationally is £350,000, and each winning project can win a maximum of £12,500
