Morson Group are proud to have raised over £100,000 for Seashell Trust and Springhill Hospice in the recent charity masquerade ball.
The masquerade ball, held on Saturday 10 September at Lancashire County Cricket ground, saw over 250 guests enjoy an evening of fine dining, entertainment and fundraising.
Morson charity committee chairman Dave Robinson formally opened proceedings before Morson Group CEO Ged Mason welcomed guests and in his welcoming speech paid tribute to the work done by both the charities and the committee who organised the evening. “One of our core values that sticks with me is charitability. It’s something my father installed in us and we continue on as his legacy.
“Our charity committee works tirelessly within the business to raise money while also getting on with their day jobs. It’s also great to see so many people who are involved with Morson, our suppliers, here supporting these two great causes.”
After dinner, guests heard from the Seashell Trust and Springhill Hospice and the people whose lives have been positively affected by their work. Dominic Ritter of the Seashell Trust introduced Angela Norton, a mother with two disabled sons being looked after by the charity.
John Callahan spoke next of the care shown to him by the Springhill Hospice when his wife Lorraine was terminally ill.
The raffle prizes and auction lots were donated by various companies for the event, and the range and quality of items and prizes on offer sparked good-spirited and generous bidding wars amongst the guests.
After the spending upwards of £50,000, guests enjoyed live music and dancing.
The evenings spirit of generosity was compounded by Morson Group’s CEO matching the amount raised by the auction and bringing the total to over £100,000. This will be shared between the charities.
