Police were called to the Eccles Cross pub on Regent Street, Eccles at 7.20am, today, Tuesday, 20 September after receiving reports of a burglary at the premises.
Thieves had gained access through the rear doors and forced open four fruit machines, stealing the cash inside, said Greater Manchester Police.
Officers are studying CCTV images from inside the pub and enquiries are continuing.
