The renaissance of business in Ordsall takes another step forward today with the opening of the Foundry Film Studios.
The 8,000sq ft purpose-built venue, over the road from Exchange Quay and next-door neighbours to a huge brewery, is the latest firm to set up on the Capital&Centric business park opposite Ordsall Hall.

Foundry Film brings 10 full-time staff to Ordsall.
Young entrepreneurs James Shannon, 28, and Madeline Penfold, 23, will manage the £1.5m facility, producing creative content on location and in studio for advertising and film.
Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital&Centric said: “We’re delighted to see Foundry Film Studios operational in their new home. Foundry is a development that we’re really proud of and it’s exciting to see such a creative operator taking space in the new scheme”.
It’s just the latest boost for Salford’s prolific and growing media industry.
The Foundry is home to two expansive studios, with one studio containing one of the largest infinity coves – an all-white space with no corners – in the north west.
Alongside the film studios, edit bays, dressing rooms and bar area is an events space for up to 600 people.
“Our combined ambition was to create a space which is ultimately an artistic hub and where collaboration is at the core,” said MD James Shannon.
“We wanted to make it feel like a home-from-home environment and develop an alternative to the cold, un-welcoming feeling that is so often found in a lifeless empty studio.
“The TV industry has evolved and boundaries are constantly being pushed.
“Experience, process and technology are very much a focus of the Foundry Studios and being able to work with our clients across the world offering them an immersive live experience is second to none”, said James Shannon MD.
Jason Tyldesley, CEO at Sofology, who has recently used the new facility said: “Foundry Film Studios have created a production space and workflow that allows Sofology to not only shoot the big TV campaigns, but to also turn around high quality, high volume product films on a continuous basis”.
The Foundry Film Studios will host an official launch party on Thursday 27 October.
