A man was seriously injured in Bolton after he was hit by a car which then drove off.
The incident happened at around 2.55am on Saturday 4 July 2015 outside a takeaway on Bradshawgate, opposite Yates’ Wine Lodge.
A 28-year-old man was crossing the road when he was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall car, which was travelling along Bradshawgate in the direction of Great Moor Street.
The man suffered serious injuries. The Vauxhall stopped for a brief moment but then made off from the scene.
The man was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for head and spinal injuries, a broken arm and cuts to his body.
Police Sergeant Brian Orr from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The victim in this incident is lying seriously injured in a hospital bed and the driver of the car that hit him didn’t even have the decency to stop to make sure he was ok.
“We are making a number of enquiries to locate this driver and are keen to speak to any witnesses, particularly anyone who may have a dash camera fitted to their vehicle that may have captured the incident or the moments prior to or after the collision.
“We are also eager to hear from anyone who may have footage recorded on a mobile phone, or who knows the whereabouts of a Vauxhall car that has damage to the front bumper and windscreen.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4742. Officers will speak with any members of the public that have footage they wish to pass to police, and can arrange for this to be collected from the individual.
