In the Bolton Bury and District Beechfield United Under 16’s Tornadoes stretched their unbeaten Section C run to five games and currently hold a two-point lead at the top of the table.
Beechy were at home to Breightmet Wanderers and producing another brilliant all-round display easily collected the three points via a 9-1 victory. The goals were shared between Nauris Kaluga, Troy Walker, Mason White, Kurtis Taylor and Joseph Furlong.
At Bolton Road Playing Fields the Under 15’s Storm met Division 1 leaders Daton Youth and despite a gutsy performance Beechy suffered a 7-1 defeat. Man of the Match Joe Cox scored United’s consolation goal.
Producing a poor performance in their home game with Bolton County Rockets were the Under 14’s Tornadoes who somehow lost this Section B fixture 6-4. There was no Star Player award handed out and on target with goals for Beechy were Leighton White and Ademola Olasanya.
The Under 12’s Storm (9v9) were in action twice within twenty-four hours and they tasted success on both occasions. On Saturday in the Salford and District League goals by Luke Carr (2) Adam Rothwell, Oliver Potter, Ben Howard, Mason Turner and Man of the Match Ellis Craven secured the Beechy boys a 7-0 win over Moston Tigers.
Then on Sunday morning United travelled to play Droylsden Youth Centre in the Manchester FA Youth Cup and booked their place in Round 3 thanks to a 5-1 victory. Man of the Match Samuel Oludoyi (hat-trick) and Joe Irvine (2) got the goals.
Following a much improved performance the Under 12’s Thunder (9v9) celebrated their first Division 1 win of the season. Beechy were away to Fives Athletic and straight from the kick-off United put their opponents under pressure.
A well delivered corner kick by Jacob Lacey resulted in Beechy taking the lead when the ball deflected off a Fives player and into the net but Fives hit back and levelled the score then the home side went 2-1 up before half time. Looking better organised in the second half the Thunder boys soon displayed their true character and found an equaliser after great vision by Reiss Miller set-up Man of the Match Jacob Lacey who showed his class by calmly slotting the ball into the corner of the net via the coolest of touches.
Harvey Walker got in on the act when he put Beechy ahead then Jake O’Sullivan was on target twice thanks to a well taken free kick and a great header. Fives reduced the arrears but this didn’t spoil United’s superb overall performance and their 5-3 victory was just reward for all the players hard work and commitment.
Also enjoying their first victory of the season were the Under 12’s Tornadoes (9v9) In Division 3 Beechy faced an away game against Moston Tigers Stripes and following a dynamic display the Tornadoes won the match 6-1. The goals came courtesy of Alan Kay (2) William Whipday (2) Man of the Match Joe Hope and Sam Jones.
Experiencing a frustrating Saturday morning were the Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) who lost away to Fives Athletic. Goalscorers for the Tornadoes in this Development Group Yellow Division fixture were Theo Valentine and Adam Wood plus an own goal. No Man of the match Trophy was awarded.
Guilty of a bad first half display against local rivals Moorside Rangers Red the Under 11’s Storm (9v9) found themselves two goals down at half time. United played much better in the second half and got a goal back then conceded a further two goals. Producing a spirited fightback Beechy scored three goals in the last ten minutes to force a draw. Kaiden McClean, Jayden Okoli, Oliver Lawton and Jake Manison scored the goals and the Storm’s Best Player was Cameron Booth.
At one stage in their Bolton and District League away game with FC Strikerz Bulletz the Under 10’s Hurricanes trailed by two goals but Beechy recovered superbly and eventually won this Dragons Division match. Reilly Happy was named Man of the Match and on target with the goals were Ole Kerwin and Tom Worthington.
In their Development Group Yellow Division away match at Majic Sports FC the Under 10’s Typhoon struggled to find any fluency in their play. The home side took the lead but Cole Winstanley scored from the penalty spot to get Beechy back level. Unfortunately, United’s overall display was poor and they conceded again and lost the contest. Following a top-class display as sweeper Harry Davies was voted Man of the Match.
The Under 10’s Storm played some good football at times in their Development Group Red Division home game with Parkwyddn Predators. The in-form Caden Gibson scored a late goal for the Storm after a superb cross by Man of the Match Freddie Jackson but further goals eluded United who wasted several easy chances.
Sam Henderson and William Anderton fired in the goals for the Under 10’s Lightning who faced Prestwich Junior Tigers. This Development Group Green Division encounter included five goals but Beechy ended up on the losing side. Lucas Wood was named Man of the Match.
In the Development Group Red Division home game against AFC Monton Yellow the Under 9’s Tornadoes were hoping to build on last week’s stylish display. Despite making a slow start Beechy’s movement off the ball was very good and some excellent chances were created. Ellis O’Brien-Walsh and Joel Thorndyke scored goals for the Tornadoes who’s Man of the Match Award went to Aiden Lawton for his quality defending.
After a scrappy game with Manchester Maccabi Eagles the Under 8’s Tornadoes came out on top. There were superb performances from all the players so it was a tough decision for the parents to select a Man of the Match but eventually they chose Brandon Booth. In the Development Group Yellow Division there was a second successive hat-trick for Ethan Harris.
At Beech Farm Playing Fields the Under 8’s Hurricanes were in action against Barr Hill Hearts in the Development Group Green Division. Man of the Match Daniel Robinson and Lloyd Hiles netted the goals for the Hurricanes.
United’s Under 8’s Storm were away to Stretford Victoria for their latest Development Group Red Division fixture. Lucas Harris received the team’s Best Player Award while Fletcher Jackson was on target with a consolation goal for Beechy.
Under 7’s Storm goalkeeper Frankie Carter produced a brilliant second half display in the Development Group Red away game at Ladybridge Lions and collected the Man of the Match accolade. Goalscorer for the Storm was Noah Thorndyke.
Logan McFeely was named Player of the Match following the Under 7’s Tornadoes Development Group Yellow home game against Urmston Town Storm.
