Some 15,000 people flocked to the City Aiport at Barton for this year’s Manchester Air Show.
The event returned to Barton after a 21-year break, bringing daredevil stunt riders, a Chinook military helicopter and a Battle of Britain memorial flight with Spitfires and Hurricanes to an adoring crowd.
There were some complaints of poor access to the airport from the always-busy A57 Liverpool Road – with Salford Red Devils’ free attendance match against Catalans Dragons over the road at the AJ Bell Stadium probably complicit.
The airshow was sadly curtailed early due to heavy thunderstorms but still provided entertainment for thousands.
