Denise Lewis and Dom Littlewood launch “Right on the Money” live, at MediaCityUK

Stripped across a week, Right On The Money: Live combines up-to-the-minute advice with topical reports packed with practical ideas to save you money. Each day the team’s experts will transform the finances of an individual household, whether that’s a family, a single mum or a pensioner. Denise and Dom will be live in the BBC studio at MediaCity where they will explore the best ways to get value for money, the psychology of spending, and the unexpected ways that some people have been able to maximise their cash.

Presenters Denise and Dom are looking forward to hearing more of the experts’ tips and are particularly pleased the emphasis is on simple ways of saving money. As a mum of 3, Olympic gold medallist heptathlete Denise doesn’t always feel she has the time to do the things like switching energy that she knows could instantly save her perhaps hundreds of pounds. But, as this series will show, that’s a straightforward process that typically takes around half an hour which, for those living in one of the 13 million British households that have still never switched energy supplier, could prove to be the most lucrative of the year.

One Show regular Dom Littlewood has given up buying take–away coffees since preparing for Right on the Money: Live- a tip he picked up from the experts. He says,
“Brits blow a whopping £1.3 billion a year on impulse buys – which we rarely factor in when working out our overall spending. I’m as guilty as anyone, buying up to four take-away coffees a day. But cutting back on just one of those would over a year put an extra £500 in my pocket.”

By the end of each show viewers will be armed with simple but effective ways they can free up money or better control their finances. As the programmes are live, they can also join in the discussion and share their own budget-busting hints too.

RIGHT ON THE MONEY: Live, BBC One Monday 13th July-Friday 17th July 0915-1000.
