Salford primary schools are celebrating top marks in this year’s Key Stage 2 results.
Eighty one per cent of children in Salford are now achieving Level 4 and above in English and maths – a two per cent increase on last year and one of the best results in Greater Manchester.
And the city is also celebrating holding steady with 21% of children achieving Level 5 – the same as last year.
Councillor John Merry, assistant mayor for children’s services, said: “This is a tribute to the excellent work that goes on in our schools to ensure children get the best start in life. Our children work and try hard and they and everyone who supports them should be very proud of these results.
“We’re now above the national average of 80% at Level 4 and above for both England and the north west and will keep striving to get that result even higher.”
