Goodbye Miss Magee: Lewis Street Primary School teacher to retire after 28 years


A much-loved teacher at a primary school in Patricroft, Eccles is to retire after 28 years in the job.

Morag Magee joined Lewis Street Primary School in 1987 as a newly qualified teacher.

Over the years she taught generations of children.

A passionate teacher who gave dedicated service to the school and the community in Patricroft, she was sad to say goodbye to the school she loved.

At a recent leaving celebration she said: “It’s been a privilege to serve the school and the community for so long.”

Executive headteacher Wendy McCormack said Miss Magee was “a hardworking steadfast and caring teacher”.

She said: “Miss Magee has devoted her working life to the school and will be sadly missed by her colleagues, parents and all the children.

“We all wish her the very best in her retirement.”
