Kids can paint the City’s largest flower garden

Manchester Arndale will be in full bloom next week to celebrate Dig the City, as shoppers are invited to play a part in painting Manchester’s largest flower garden.

The interactive garden will be entered into this year’s Dig the City garden show competition, as the festival theme is “Interact and Innovate”.

Located in Halle Square, families and children are invited to paint a section of the 7m x 8m design from 31 July to Thursday 6 August, so it will be beautifully complete as the festival comes to a close on 6 August.

The popular Dig the City Family Trail will also return, where families can collect stamps in a selection of the centre’s children’s stores for a green-fingered children’s gift, to be collected in Halle Square. The painting activity and trail will run from 11:30am – 5:30pm daily.

On Thursday 6 August, Wild Rumpus will run crafting activities alongside the floral garden, where kids can have fun designing and making their own Dig the City inspired head dresses between 10am – 3pm.

David Allinson, Centre Director at Manchester Arndale, said: “We are proud to support Dig the City in its fourth year. Last year we bagged a Dig the City award for our fashionable floral garden and this year we wanted to introduce more of an interactive element for kids to enjoy during the school holidays. Running our popular Dig the City trail in the centre will also guarantee a fun-packed day out for families visiting the centre at the weekend.”
