Safe and well: Family thank Good Samaritans who helped find missing Eccles Alzheimer’s sufferer Carole Hardman


A grandmother-of-eight who went missing from home in Eccles has been found safe and well.

Carole Hardman, 69, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, went missing from her home on Crawford Street at around 9am today, Tuesday 4 August.

Family put out an urgent appeal to find her through SalfordOnline.com at around 4pm today.

Readers sent in multiple sightings of Carole after the appeal.

Hundreds of people shared the story with thousands reading about her disappearance.

It has now emerged that a Good Samaritan spotted Carole in Swinton late this evening and put her in a taxi.

She is now at back at home with family in Eccles.

Daughter Michelle said tonight: “We would like to thank the kind person who put my mum in a taxi home.

“We would also like to thank everyone who shared the story on SalfordOnline.com.

“It really shows that there are kind people out there who will help people in need.”
