Co-promoter Natalie Lewis told SalfordOnline.com: “Marc very rarely shows he is under pressure when he’s out in the ring, I’m sure he puts a lot of pressure on himself. In my opinion, he’s very level headed.
Controversy has dogged the young pro’s early career – after being denied a silver medal in Europe as an amateur he was extremely unlucky to lose his first ever professional fight on points against the 5lb heavier Bobby Jenkinson.
But momentum is now with Leach as he looks use his fast hands and movement to box his way to a second pro victory this weekend.
Natalie puts Marc’s positive attitude down to his Oliver’s stablemates offering advice to the 20-year-old: “His role model and former Middleweight Champion Martin Murray has recently started working with him,” she said.
“This has had a positive impact as Marc can see the belts that Martin has won and can aspire to something similar.
And the former thai boxer is meticulous in his preparation, she says.
“Marc is always at the gym, either in the ring working on his style or on his fitness outside.
“He’s constantly watching videos of old fights to try and see what other fighters have done in different situations.”
Despite a career still in its infancy, Marc has set his sights on the big stage.
“He wants regular coverage on Sky Sports, and he’s going to get there through winning fights and getting more publicity.”
Also stepping into the ring in Preston on Saturday are Dubliner Anthony Thompson, pro debutant Mark Scanlon and the hugely promising super welterweight Navid Mansouri.
It promises to be a brilliant fight night – for tickets call Johnney Rowe on 07946 270758 or Oliver’s Gym on 07837 973957.
