Salford Choral Society seeks new singers

Members from all over Greater Manchester will come together at St Philip’s Church, just off Chapel Street A6, on Wednesday the 2 of September to start rehearsals under the guidance of Guest Conductor John Powell.

John will be known to many as Conductor of Bolton Festival Choir, the Phoenix Choir in Bolton and his own chamber group, the John Powell Singers, regularly heard on BBC Radio.

He has been Musical Director of Tatton Singers since 2005, as well as teaching and directing workshops and singing days for a variety of choirs and is also very active as a festival adjudicator.

With Salford Choral he will be tackling Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light and Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms for a concert on November 7th at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Perhaps you’ve been thinking about joining a choir, but not sure where to start?

Tenors and basses would be particularly welcome, and rehearsals are within easy reach of Manchester Town Centre, so come along and make new friends with a common aim to make good music. For further information contact Claire Berry at membership@salfordchoral.org.uk,
