Omnicell Ltd., a leading provider of medication and supply management solutions to the global healthcare market has opened its new, purpose built headquarters in Irlam, after consolidating each of its businesses, Surgichem Limited, MTS Medication Technologies, Avantec Healthcare Ltd and Mach 4.

On Wednesday 2nd September, Omnicell senior management team from across the globe gathered to celebrate the opening of the new Irlam premises. Among those attending were Randall Lipps, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Arthur van Dongen, Omnicell General manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa and Paul O’Hanlon, Managing Director, Omnicell UK and Ireland. The event saw three flags being raised, The Union Jack, The European Union flag and the flag of the United States of America, by each of the management team.

The headquarters will now serve as the main centre of operations for: Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This move, which places Omnicell just 30 minutes from central Manchester, will allow Omnicell to take advantage of Manchester’s strong talent pool and transport networks to support the company’s growth and expansion, as well as reinforce its heritage as a leading provider in medication adherence packaging and automation.

The afternoon, which centred around an English tea party theme, continued with the planting of a tree representing the growth of the company; all members of the executive team were invited to plant the tree to show their contribution and involvement in this new step for the business.

Paul O’Hanlon, Omnicell Managing Director for UK & Ireland, comments: “We are so pleased to be opening up a new and more advanced head-quarters and excited to be setting up a base in Manchester. We believe this new home will help us to develop on our main mission; improving the health of patients. This is a real milestone for us and our new headquarters will enable us to continue to build the business and gain new relationships.”
