Free young men’s dance project in Salford

Young Men from Salford can join a FREE October half term project with a difference!

Dance Manchester’s ‘STRIDE’ comes to University of Salford near you on the 30th of September.

All young men aged 10-20 can take part in a FREE try-out to win a place on a FREE October half term dance project leading to a performance at Art Fund Museum of the Year 2015, The Whitworth.

The professional dancers of Manchester’s only touring dance company, Company Chameleon, will choreograph the performance. Have you got what it takes? Get a taster with a FREE open workshop at Z-Arts, Hulme on Saturday 12th September, 1pm – 3pm.

Places aren’t chosen on ability only, and dance experience isn’t necessary – but enthusiasm, a good attitude & commitment is. So whether you are new to dance or not, STRIDE is for you. Young men offered a STRIDE place will attend 3 weekly sessions to learn key movements with a professional dance artist.

These will be the building blocks for creating a full dance performance. During the October half term (24th – 31st October), all Greater Manchester STRIDE boys will work together at The Whitworth in Manchester to create a sited dance piece, which will then be performed in various spaces throughout The Whitworth on Thursday 29th October at 7pm and Saturday 31st October at 1pm and 3.30pm.
