Beechfield United Juniors results

The 2015/2016 season got underway for numerous Beechfield United Junior Teams and there were some first-class performances both at home and away.

In the North Bury Junior League the Under 17’s were faced with a 9.30am kick-off when they travelled to play Pennine Juniors Black in their opening match.

Beechy took the lead thanks to a goal from Fabio Convales but due to a couple of basic defensive errors Pennine Juniors were gifted a 2-1 half-time lead. United dominated the second half and Pennine Juniors were rescued by their keeper who produced three fantastic saves but was eventually beaten when Kade Culf netted United’s fully deserved equalising goal. Keeper Kyle Garner was voted United’s Man of the Match.

The Under 15’s Predators made it a hat-trick of wins in the Tameside Football League after playing two games in three days. On Thursday Evening United met Atherton Town at Stott Lane and a highly polished all-round display secured a 5-0 win.

Man of the Match was Denford Dvzene and the goals came via Brandon Kent, Dylan Durose, George Davies, Joseph Lydiate and Mitchell McGivern. Then on Sunday morning a solitary second half goal by Brandon Kent was enough to give Beechy a 1-0 victory over Failsworth Dynamos Blues. Another superb performance from Denford Dvzene earned him a second successive Man of the Match Award.

Beechy Under 13’s Tornadoes played their first official 11-a-side match in the Salford and Districts Football League and celebrated a 4-2 victory.

Away at De La Salle Reds a highly confident United outfit took the lead through Jeanny Le Blanc who powered his way past four defenders and fired the ball into the corner of the net. As they continued to produce some non-stop attacking Beechy could have been four goals up but for the heroics of the De la Salle keeper. Following their first real attack De La Salle equalised but United quickly regained control and regained the lead courtesy of Jeanny Le Blanc and he completed his hat-trick for 3-1 following a great move involving Jacob Wilson and Leighton White.

In the second half Beechy relied on some solid defending when De La Salle enjoyed more of the ball and United keeper Asa Millar made some vital saves. Leighton White was on target when he got the fourth goal and De la Salle competed the scoring after a speculative long range effort dropped over the keeper and into the net. Dillon Barnes and Jeanny Le Blanc shared the Man of the Match Accolade.

Making a winning start to the new season were United’s Under 12’s Storm (9v9) who were at home to Swinton Panthers. In Division 1 Beechy went to the top of the table on goal difference following a 5-1 victory. Man of the Match George Moorhouse (3) Harry Gartland and Jack Thompson got the goals.

United’s three Under 11’s teams had away games in their respective Divisions and the players had all taken the step-up from Mini-Soccer to 9v9 football. The Under 11’s Thunder played Barr Hill Hearts and after an evenly balanced opening few minutes Beechy found their form and producing some great football went ahead courtesy of a fine goal scored by Harvey Walker. The match pattern in the second half was much the same as the first but Barr Hill found an equaliser forcing Beechy to step up a gear. Harvey Walker got his and United’s second goal and rewarded for a first-class display was Samuel Oludoyi who netted a third goal for Beechy.

On Sunday Morning the Under 11’s Storm met Manchester Maccabi Galaxy and kicked-off their official season with an excellent team performance. The Man of the Match Award went to Mason Turner and goals for Beechy were scored by Bailey Lloyd and Damion Broughton.

There was a disappointing result for the Under 11’s Tornados following their away game at St Andrews All Stars. There was no Man of the Match Award handed out.

In the Mini-Soccer Section Beechy Under 10’s Storm hosted Barr Hill Diamonds at Beech Farm Playing Fields. The visitors made a bright start and scored two quick goals but United battled back and both Ben Delaney and Johnny Walsh came close to reducing the arrears. United conceded a third goal near to half time but began the second period looking better organised and Johnny Walsh was in the right place to put the ball in the net following a previous effort from Tawonga Chirwa. Barr Hill got a another goal in the latter stages and after the final whistle Elliott McClurg-Taylor was named as United’s Best Player.

A depleted Under 10’s Tornadoes outfit conceded several goals in the first half of their away fixture against Deans Tigers. After an important half time talk the Beechy lads responded superbly creating wave after wave of attacks and despite threatening to score several goals just couldn’t find the finishing touch plus they were thwarted by the Deans keeper who made numerous great saves. Jack Fitton collected United Star Player Award.

Last seasons Under 8’s Thunder renamed the Under 9’s Typhoon were involved in a hard fought match with De La Salle Hawks. Manager Phil Hesketh praised the whole team for a Star Studded display and on target with goals for Beechy were Jamie Withington and Sonny O’Brien (Penalty) Man of the Match was Cole Winstanley for his tireless work down the right wing.

Involved in a Friendly Match with Moorside Rangers Yellow were the Under 9’s Hurricanes and Beechy found the winning formula. Goalscorers for the Hurricanes were Man of the Match Georgi Georgiev, Ben Morris, Oliver Coles and Dominic Roaden.

Swinton Junior Cobras were the Under 9’s Lightning opponents for the opening Development Group Green fixture. The Beechy players were credited with an impressive all-round performance and receiving the Best Player Award was Lucas Wood.

Man of the Match Michael Walsh and Joshua Kilfoyle scored goals for Beechy Under 8’s Storm in the Development Group Blue away game with Barr Hill Diamonds.
