Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with potentially life threatening injuries following a serious collision in the city centre.
At around 4:45am on Sunday 20 September 2015, police were called to Chester Street in Manchester City Centre to reports that a woman had been involved in a collision with a taxi which had then left the scene.
Officers attended and found a 22-year-old woman with serious head injuries before she was taken to hospital where her condition is described as potentially life threatening.
Initial enquiries have established that the car involved was a black cab taxi which police are trying to trace.
Police Constable Paul Hailwood of the GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are still establishing exactly what happened with this collision and we are keen to speak to the driver of the black cab taxi that was involved.
“It is possible that the driver didn’t know the seriousness of the collision or the woman’s injuries before they drove off but we would like to speak with them and get their account of what happened.
“If you are the driver or if you witnessed the collision and have information then I would like to urge you to please contact the police.”
