Police hunt after men rob Ordsall store with kitchen knife

Police were called to reports of a robbery at a convenience store in Ordsall.

Police arrived at the Best-One store in Belfort Drive at around 2pm on Friday 11 September 2015 and discovered a man had entered the store with a kitchen knife and demanded cash from the till.

No one was injured during the robbery but the man left the store with a quantity of cash after threatening the member of staff.

Detectives have now issued images of the suspect and are appealing for any information. The man was seen walking toward the shop on Belfort Drive and then stood for some time outside looking at the shop and the CCTV camera.

He then crossed the road on to Robert Hall Street to continue looking at the shop. After the robbery the man was seen running along Belfort Drive in the direction of Tatton Street.

Detective Constable Paul Reynolds of Salford Division said: “The man entered the shop in broad daylight after spending some time outside the shop psyching himself up. I would ask that you contact police if you saw this man in the area around the time of the robbery.

“Please look closely at the CCTV images and get in touch if you recognise him or have any information.”

Anyone with any information should contact Salford CID on 0161 856 5351 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
