In action in the Timperley and District Junior League were Beechfield United Under 16’s who met Wythenshawe Amateurs away in a Division 3 fixture and Beechy offered no excuses following a 5-2 defeat. Bradley Wheeler netted both goals via two great finishes and United’s Man of the Match was Tom Haslam who produced a solid display in his role as left back.
The Under 15’s Predators extended their unbeaten run in the Tameside Football League to four games thanks to an emphatic 6-0 away win over Stalybridge Celtic. Dylan Durose (2) Robert Boardman, Joseph Lydiate and Man of the Match Henry Bonynge scored the goals for Beechy who currently occupy second place in the JFC Sports Division table.
Away at Horwich RMI Diesel Blues the Under 15’s Tornadoes were definitely in goalscoring form and celebrated an 8-4 victory. In the Bolton Bury and District League United’s goals came via Keiran Alley (3) Charlie James (2) Joseph Furlong (2) and Henry Cottrill.
At Stott Lane the Under 13’s Tornadoes were involved in a thirteen goal thriller with Urmston Town Sharks. After only five minutes Man of the Match Jeanny Le Blanc gave Beechy the lead but Urmston Town responded and soon found an equaliser then went 3-1 in front. Jeanny Le Blanc reduced the arrears then Leighton White produced a powerful finish to make it 3-3 at the break.
The second half was just as frantic and the Tornadoes needed to produce another recovery act after Urmston Town led 5-3. Leighton White scored another excellent goal to give United a glimmer of hope but back came Urmston Town who regained their two goal advantage. When it looked as if the Tornadoes were down-and-out with twelve minutes remaining Jeanny Le Blanc rescued Beechy with three brilliant goals to put United 7-6 up. Thankfully the final few minutes were less eventful than the previous sixty eight and the Tornadoes held on to earn their second victory of the season.
Continuing their spectacular start to the season were the Under 12’s Storm (9v9) At Beech Farm Playing Fields United entertained AFC Monton Vipers and thanks to a superb second half display Beechy won the match 5-1. Making a nervous start the Storm found themselves a goal down and struggled to get a foothold in this Division 1 contest but Beechy kept their composure and just minutes before half time a fantastic finish from Harry Gartley made it 1-1.
From the moment the whistle blew to restart the match United took control and attacking with pace and menace took the lead with a goal by Bobby Anderson. AFC Monton’s defence was put under constant pressure as United created a constant flow of powerful attacks and Bobby Anderson was on target again when he made it 3-1. The three points were guaranteed when Jack Thompson fired in the fourth goal then courtesy of his hat-trick goal Man of the Match Bobby Anderson completed the scoring.
United’s Under 12’s Tornadoes began their season in the Salford and District Junior League with an evening home game against Parkwyddn Phoenix. William Kent and Joe Staley got the goals for the Tornadoes who lost this Division 3 fixture 5-2. Best Player for United was Max O’Brien. For their next match Beechy met neighbours Moorside Rangers Blue and were on the wrong end of a 4-3 score line. William Kent received the Man of the Match Award and Joe Staley, Ellis Kenny and Shaun Heywood netted the goals for Beechy.
Finley Irwin was named the Under 11’s Storm (9v9) Star Player following their home game with Urmston Town Bulls. Producing a polished performance Beechy won the match thanks to goals from Finley Irwin, Luke Carr and Tom Cox.
The Under 11’s Tornadoes were in action against another Urmston Town outfit and they still search for their first goal of the season. Joe Mountcastle was awarded the Man of the Match Trophy after the game with Urmston Town Vipers.
At home to local rivals Moorside Rangers Green the Under 11’s Thunder made a slow start to this Development Group Red match and conceded two goals in the opening ten minutes. Gradually Beechy found their rhythm and reduced the arrears thanks to Harvey Walker then a wonder strike by Dominic Lawton made it all square. Jake O’Sullivan got in on the act when he found the back of the net to put United ahead at half time. Beechy dominated the second half and producing more quality football added four more goals. The goals were shared between Harvey Walker, Jake O’Sullivan and Dominic Lawton.
Controlling the majority of their home game with Flixton Junior Panthers were the Under 10’s Tornadoes. Producing a solid first half display the Tornadoes coped well with some heavy tackling from their opponents. Throughout the second half United showed their class with some wonderful quick passing moves that constantly opened up the Flixton defence. There were hat tricks for Man of the Match Harley Davidson and Kaden McClean plus a couple of goals for Adam Wood.
On Sunday morning the Under 10’s Storm travelled to play Manchester Maccabi Cubs, After an evenly balanced first half the teams were level at the break. Beechy then found themselves holding a two goal lead but conceded twice in the last ten minutes. Ben Delaney was the Storm’s Star Player and on target with the goals were Elliott Harrison and Oliver Lawton.
A first class all-round display by the Under 9’s Hurricanes secured a fully deserved win over De la Salle Reds. Goals for Beechy in this Development Group Purple encounter were scored by Josh Clough, Reilly Happy and Ben Morris and voted Best Player was Tom Worthington.
Beechy Under 9’s Typhoon produced a below-par first half performance in their home game with Old Trafford FC. There was a vast improvement after the interval and United were rewarded with goals from Cole Winstanley, and Sonny O’Brien. Following and energetic and hardworking display Joseph Bottomley was voted Man of the Match.
The Under 9’s Lightning squad played Deans Panthers in a Friendly Match and this entertaining contest produced a total of eleven goals. Josh Harrison collected the Star Player Award.
Both Under 8’s teams had home games and fourteen goals were scored in the Storm versus Parkwyddn Phoenix fixture. Noah O’Connor who was named Man of the Match scored his first ever goals for the club. Michael Walsh, Joshua Kilfoyle and Grace Belcher were also on target and there was an impressive debut by Saul Tagoe.
United’s Under 8’s Tornadoes entertained Flixton Junior Dynamo’s and after a fairly mediocre start Beechy went two goals down. The Tornadoes who could easily have conceded more goals issued a special thank you to goalkeeper Freddie Wardle who made several brilliant saves. In the second half Beechy created a superb fightback and the contest eventually ended as a draw. Both teams were a credit to their clubs following a match played in a fantastic spirit. Goalscorers for the Tornadoes were Ellis O’Brien-Walsh, Aiden Lawton and Joshua Taylor.
