Hats Off to the Salford City College Class of 2015

Last week Higher Education students from Salford City College celebrated their graduation at a special ceremony at the University of Salford’s MediaCityUK campus. As well as a presentation of certificates to the graduating students, awards were also given out to a number of students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement in subject areas such as accounting and construction.

The special guest speaker for the evening was broadcaster and journalist Gordon Burns, who spoke to the graduating students and their guests about his exciting career in television, including his amazing 18-year stint presenting family-favourite The Krypton Factor.

One of the evening’s graduates was Olumuyiwa Ogunleye, who has just completed his HND in ICT (Computing Systems and Development). He said: “I have really enjoyed the ceremony this evening- it has been great to celebrate my achievements with my tutors and the rest of the graduating students.”

Olumuyiwa, who is now going on to complete his full degree in Business Admin and Management at the University of Huddersfield, was celebrating his graduation alongside his wife Oluwatofunmi, who graduated from Salford City College the previous year with an HNC in Health and Social Care. She now hopes to become a nurse for the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Salford City College offers HNCs, HNDs, foundation degrees, BScs and teacher training programmes. Courses are delivered in full time and part time modes.

To find out more come along to our HE Open Evening, which is due to take place at Salford City College’s FutureSkills on Tuesday 29th September from 5:30-8:30pm.
