Man arrested after Manchester to Stockport train sexual touching appeal


A 28-year-old man, from Stockport, has been arrested following a British Transport Police appeal into a report of sexual touching on a train between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport.

He was arrested on 31 March on suspicion of sexual assault by touching and common assault.

He has subsequently been released on police bail until Wednesday, 20 May.

A British Transport Police spokesman said:

“I would like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information and the local media for their assistance in publicising this appeal.”
