Woman’s warning after man tries to get her into a car in Salford

A 22-year-old woman has contacted SalfordOnline.com to warn the local community after she said she was approached and told to get into a car in Salford.

She was walking near her home along Grecian Street in Lower Broughton, near Albert Park, when a man in red Audi pulled up on the kerb.

She thought he was going to ask for directions, but he wound down the window and told her to ‘Get in.’

She declined, and the man said he didn’t mind giving her a lift, so she said she didn’t need a lift, and the man made to get out of his car.

The 22-year-old, who is a trainee care assistant, ran home.

“He was young-looking, in his late 20s to early 30s, with a medium build, clean shaven and brown eyes,” she said.

She reported that the man was Asian, of Pakistani origin, and spoke with an English accent.

Police have stepped up local patrols to be on the lookout.

Anyone with any information should call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
