Police have issued an E-fit after a woman was carjacked in Manchester city centre.
The incident happened on Wednesday 23 September 2015 at around 8.50pm.
A 27-year-old woman was sat alone in her black Peugeot 108 car on Store Street car park, as she waited for her boyfriend to arrive at Piccadilly train station.
A man approached the car, opened the driver’s door and tried to take the woman’s keys.
The woman fought the man off and started screaming, but he put his hand over her mouth, pulled her out of the vehicle and then made off in the car towards Great Ancoats Street.
The vehicle, registration plate MD64 YHR, is still outstanding.
The man is described as white, with short hair. He was wearing a black hoody and black trousers and spoke with a Manchester accent.
Detective Constable Neil Saxon from GMP’s City Centre Policing Team said: “The victim in this incident was terrified by what happened to her, as she had no idea what the man was going to do to her when he pulled her out of the car.
“Thankfully, she was not injured but clearly this is a very serious case and we are carrying out significant enquiries to identify this individual.
“The young woman has worked with police officers to produce an E-fit of the offender and we are asking for any members of the public who think they may recognise this man, or who may have seen anything last Wednesday night, to please get in touch with us.”
