Two men stabbed and girl injured by knife-wielding thugs at Salford social club


Three people were injured after tooled-up thugs forced their way into a birthday party at a social club in Salford.

Police were called to the Lower Kersal Social Club on Stamford Road on Friday night at around 11.30pm.

They found a man had been stabbed in the chest, a second man had been stabbed in the leg and a girl with an eye injury.

The girl is understood to have had surgery following the attack.

The two men were also taken to hospital for treatment.

None of the injuries is considered to be life-threatening.

Locals described the scene as “a war zone”, but none were willing to comment further.

Greater Manchester Police say an investigation has been launched to discover the motive behind the attack.

In a statement the force said: “Police were called shortly after 11.30pm on Friday 23 October 2015 to reports of a disturbance at Lower Kersal Social Club on Stamford Road, Lower Kersal.

“Officers attended and discovered a number of people with injuries including a man who been stabbed in the leg, a man who had been stabbed in the chest and a girl with an eye injury.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the disturbance.”
