My work experience with SalfordOnline.com

SalfordOnline.com were gracious enough to accept me into their multimedia journalism work experience programme in early September.

Since then, in two months, I’ve reported from archaeological digging sites, charity events, refugee projects, riot police film sets and much more.

Work experience at SalfordOnline.com allows you to work alongside professional journalists who publish high quality news to the public at an impressive rate every day.

SalfordOnline.com also allows you to be creative with any stories that you wish to pursue.

The News Editor Tom Rodgers gives you a huge amount of latitude with your ideas – allowing you to be diverse and publish unique and interesting content that will impress both the reader and the future employer.

You also gain a vast amount of knowledge of how a daily paper receives news, processes it and publishes it to the wider public both online and through social media.

The use of links with the locals in the community, with emergency services and charities gives you a great insight of how news is sourced in one of the most diverse and newsworthy cities in the UK.

Working at SalfordOnline.com has also introduced me to several political, charitable and local figureheads in the community that will benefit me in my future career.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity that SalfordOnline.com has given me, and thankful for being allowed to publish my content to Salford readers. It has made me want to return as soon as possible.
