Euro Car Parts opens 200th branch with 50 jobs

Automotive stock distributor Euro Car Parts (ECP) has opened its 200th branch as it continues its rapid nationwide expansion.

Located in Whitefield, the three-floor, 60,000sq ft offices will open with 38 staff and the company is expected to recruit 12 more employees by the end of 2016.

The Moss Lane hub will provide around 180 deliveries per day to Swinton, Cheetham Hill, Whitefield, Bury and Radcliffe.

It takes ECP’s total property portfolio to over 5.25 million sq ft.

Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, founder and chairman of ECP, said: “By 2018 we will have 20 new generation hubs strategically located across England supplying over 230 branches three to four times per day.

“This network is essential for us to continue to provide an unrivalled, same-day delivery service to all of our customers.”

Each hub holds in excess of 36,000 lines of stock.

From 2017, all of ECP’s new generation hubs will be served from its new 1 million sq ft national distribution centre, currently being developed in Tamworth, West Midlands.

The new branch will open from 8am-6pm weekdays and 8am-4pm on Saturdays with a 29-bay retail counter for customers.

Established in 1978, ECP is now owned by American auto parts firm LKQ Corporation and has 9,500 employees nationwide.
