Eccles Town Hall Hotel goes to auction in Manchester for £160k

The Town Hall Hotel in Eccles is to go up for auction on the open market.

The once-popular community pub on Church Street closed in summer 2014 and was put up for sale by agents Harvey Silver Hodgkinson, but failed to go at its guide price of £250,000.

It now has been listed with Pugh Auctions with a guide price of £160,000-£180,000.

The pub originally opened in 1825 as the King’s Head but was rebuilt in its current characterful form in 1909.

The beautiful sandstone building was honoured with a blue plaque in the late-1990s when it became part of the City of Salford Eccles History Trail.

The three-storey historic building is being offered as a vacant freehold with a 2,421 sq ft trading area on the ground floor and seven lettable rooms on the upper floors.

The 90-seat pub area has a games room and pool table, seven flat screen TVs, and a rear cafe.

On the first floor are a communal kitchen and office rooms with bedroom and shower facilities. The second floor provides a family room, three twin and one single rooms, WC facilities, shower and linen room.

Also going under the hammer are four other lots in Salford: a vacant three bedroom mid-terraced house on Kersal Way in Salford with a guide price of £50,000; a two bedroom third floor apartment at 301 City View on Highclere Avenue with a guide of £50,000+; a three bedroom end of terrace house on Owlwood Drive in Little Hulton which is currently let for £5,400 annually; and at the lower end of the market, a two bedroom first floor flat on Peel Green Road in Eccles, which has a starting price of £25,000.

The pub is one of over 100 lots up for grabs from Pugh Auctions at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

The auction takes place on 23 April from 12 noon and is open to the public.
